We had an amazing chef line up for 2023, thank you to our special guests!

We had a stella line up this year, we were delighted to have Michelin Starred Chef, TV Presenter & Author Phil Vickery, Bake Off 2022 Contestant Januz Domagala, Chef, TV Presenter and Author Rachel Allen plus our weekend host Chef, TV Presenter & Author Chris Bavin. On Sunday we also welcomed Kenny Tutt, MasterChef 2018 winner and the fabulous Sandro Farmhouse, GBBO 2022 runner-up.

Key chef skills at Bishop Auckland College’s ‘have a go’ workshops

Bishop Auckland College were delighted to offer a varied menu of ‘have a go’ workshops at this year’s Food Festival.

Their chef lecturers Richard Vart and Elizabeth MacIntyre, led the sessions at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on both days.

Kids Cookery Workshops took place throughout the festival weekend with Viki from Twiddle Food

Viki offered Chocolate Biscuit Rolls, Gnocchi Making and Pasta Making across both days. 

Live music and performances from some of the region’s finest

We had amazing music and live entertainment performers in 2023. Dancing ‘grannies’, human hedges, singing waiters, and chefs on stilts were among the free family acts performing at the festival.
