Seed Busters

Have a go at making seed busters to take home and use in your garden. Located on the Broad Walk in the grounds of Auckland Castle. Took place between 11.00am and 3.00pm on both days of the festival, fun for all ages and completely free. 

Walled Garden talks

Took place between 11.00am and 3.00pm on both days of the festival. Visit the beautiful Walled Garden within the Castle grounds, and meet one of The Auckland Project’s garden guides as they share the interesting history of the garden and explain it’s current use today where much of the produce is used in their restaurants.

Weardale Railway

If you’re heading to the festival from the dale, why not consider using the Weardale Railway. Trains call at Stanhope, Frosterley, Kingfisher Halt, Wolsingham, Witton le Wear and Bishop Auckland. The Welcome Tower

The Tower remained open and free for all visitors during the Food Festival. Climb to the top for the best views of the Market Place!

No. 42 Community Hub

At No. 42 in The Market Place, local artisans were selling their products. Come inside and see what’s on offer.

The Auckland Project stalls in and around The Market Place

In addition to these activities, look out for The Auckland Project stalls in and around The Market Place, offering everything from Churros and Spanish Stew from El Castillo tapas restaurant, to information about The Auckland Project’s incredible attractions, their exciting 2024 event programme, The Weardale Railway and Kynren.
