Kids go free at Auckland Palace and Gardens this Food Festival Weekend.

For one weekend only, children can visit Auckland Palace and Gardens for free with a paying adult. Discover the historic Auckland Palace, once home to the powerful Prince Bishops of Durham, and explore 10 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. . Auckland Palace and Gardens will be open from 10.30am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, with adult day tickets available for just £15 from Auckland Tower.

El Castillo is bringing a taste of Spain to Bishop Auckland Market Place.

Secure your seat in the restaurant by booking a table in advance or visit the El Castillo team at their stall in the Market Place at the festival to sample delicious tapas, paella and sangria.

Visit Auckland Tower to admire the Food Festival from above. The viewing platform offers 360-degree views of the town and entry is free.

Try the new, seasonal menu in the Bishop’s Kitchen at Auckland Palace

With plenty of tempting treats, or soak up the spring sunshine in the Kitchen Courtyard whilst indulging in a slice of homemade cake. Picnics are also welcome in the grounds and gardens of Auckland Palace, but please leave the gardens as you find them.
