What's On - Jack Stein Cookery Theatre, The Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2018

The Celebrity Chef Cookery Theatre will be located in Bishop Auckland’s very own Town Hall, and will have a host of special guests over the weekend cooking up treats. For your chance to watch the delicious demonstrations make sure you book your tickets by clicking the link below. Each ticket is just £5 (a one-off transaction fee of £2 applies for online bookings). Our guests will have 2 sessions a day with limited tickets available. Our Celebrity Chef Line Up is amazing. We have a jam-packed line-up for this years festival, Phil Vickery, Jack Stein and Jane Beedle will be with us on Saturday 21st April and Candice Brown, Dan Doherty and Sean Wilson on Sunday 22nd April. What's On - Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2018 - Fun for the Kids!

There will be fun for the kids with Cookery Workshops and Classes, to find out more about the workshops and classes available just click on the button below. There are only a number of limited spaces available for the School of Artisan Food sessions, Chocolate Workshops and Bread Making sessions so please make sure you book your place or get there early!. It really will be amazing fun! Kids of all ages will have chance to get involved and find out more about delicious healthy dishes. We will also be working with local partners to deliver even more interactive fun over the weekend. Watch this space…

The School of Artisan Sessions

Book tickets to one of our amazing School of Artisan Food Adult Sessions. Please note: Adult tickets are £5 per Person with a limited number of tickets available, so make sure you do not miss out. Minimum age for the Adult session is 18. School of Artisan Food Childrens sessions are bookable on the day only – Places allocated on a first come first served basis –  Limited spaces available we strongly advise booking early on the day.

Jane Beedle Cookery Workshops - The Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2018

Jane Beedle, runner-up in the 2016 series of Great British Bake Off, will showcase her skills at this year’s Bishop Auckland Food Festival on Saturday 21st April. Jane will be running two bread making workshops that all amateur bakers are welcome to join.  The 10:30am workshop will welcome bakers aged six years and older where they will learn to make sweet chocolate bread, followed by an 11:45am workshop open to bakers aged 16 years plus to make savoury Focaccia bread. Whats On - Gin School at Bishop Auckland Food Festival

Attention class. Prepare for a lesson like no other and let our GINstructors take you on a journey of gin.  In association with Savour Magazine and Fever-Tree – attendees will get to taste 10 different gins. North East and Yorkshire gins to fruity gin liqueurs, Gin School will give you lots of ginspirational ideas on how to drink the quintessential British spirit. There’ll be interactive talks and graduates will also receive a goodie bag with discount vouchers; cocktail cards; a copy of Savour magazine, featuring The Gin Guide, and ‘A Little Book of Gin, Tonics and Garnishes’ try out crafty concoctions at home. ALL CLASSES NOW SOLD OUT. What's On - Street Food Artisans and Producers of Bishop Auckland Food Festival

The region has some of the best producers, award winners, experts and artisans in their own markets. Bishop Auckland Food Festival will capture some of the best on offer for  our busy weekend.  Keep an eye on the social  media and listings to see who we have on board.  We will be telling the stories of some of their award winning produce as we get closer to the festival.

Located just outside the Town Hall, pop along to the book signing stand. Some of our fab guests will be popping along for you to meet and get an autograph.

Whats On- Chocolate Workshops at Bishop Auckland Food Festival

We cannot wait for the return of our Chocolate workshops with the team from ‘Truly Tempting Chocolate’. Tickets for children’s and adult’s sessions can be booked in advance by clicking on the link below– four sessions are available each day taking place in Bishop Auckland Town Hall. Adult Sessions: Sat & Sun at 12noon.  Kids Sessions: Sat & Sun 10.30am, 1.30pm & 3pm . Tickets £7 each plus booking fee.

Mouth watering hot food will be available over the weekend from a host of Street Food Traders, local favourites, food flavours from around the world and with some tempting bars, baristas and cocktails too! The Food Festival will run from 10am to 5pm daily, we can offer breakfast, lunch and dinner! The menu’s will tempt all taste buds! With an amazing selection to choose from…

Whats On - Celebrity Chefs Market Place Live Stage

Celebrity chefs Chris Bavin and Anjula Devi will be appearing on our Market Place live stage during the Festival on Sat and Sun, sharing their skills and demonstrating cost effective dishes which are delicious, easy to make and healthy at the same time in free-to-attend demonstrations. PLUS Savour Magazine presents Savour Live, Savour magazine editor Georga Spottiswood, will be on stage chatting to two of the region’s top chefs about their careers, favourite dishes and what they love to cook in their restaurants. Richard Allen, executive chef at The Orangery restaurant at Rockliffe Hall and Simon Hicks is the head chef at The Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland. What's On - Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2018 - Live Music

Pop-up live music areas around the festival will build a great atmosphere for you to enjoy your day! Sit and relax, enjoy the atmosphere our musicians have some a huge range of genres.

Join Northumbrian Water’s team aboard Flo, their customer engagement vehicle, to have your say about their plans for the future of your water, get advice and hear about how we’re working with Refill to reduce plastic waste across the north east.

Enjoy a tempting taste of what’s to come from The Auckland Project, the team will be on hand throughout the Food Festival weekend offering a sneak peek. This includes the chance to take a look inside the ongoing restoration of Auckland Castle. Those who prefer to be more hands on can flex their green fingers by sowing seeds of courgette and beetroot to take home and grow. A themed craft fair will be running throughout the weekend, while members of the organisation’s Catering Team, will be serving up tasty treats prepared by The Auckland Project’s North East apprentices.
